Outpatient Services
BRAADC created an outpatient program to support those individuals who are ready to continue their recovery process after detoxification. It provides a unique opportunity for individuals return to work, school or tend to other responsibilities during the day and attend evening therapy groups.
In general, the only requirements are for the person to be at least 18 years of age, voluntarily willing to enter our outpatient program, and to have been through a detoxification treatment program or non-use for a period of time. To arrange for an initial appointment, the client must contact us by phone or in-person for a brief screening interview. An appointment will then be made to come and meet with a counselor to get set up for the program.
For most clients, Outpatient services will be available free of charge if they meet certain income criteria. Due to certain requirements placed upon is by State funding sources, if a client’s income level exceeds certain established limits, a self-pay sliding scale will be used to determine the cost to the client for these services. Whether these services will be provided at no cost or a minimal fee will be determined during the initial interview.
During the initial meeting with a counselor, the client will be given information as to what will be required of them and when various meetings are scheduled. In some instances, our Outpatient services may be an excellent interim choice for a client to cover their period of transition while awaiting placement in a 28-day inpatient program.
The outpatient program utilizes the Behavior Therapy, Matrix Model, 12-step program and the American Society of Addictive Medicines (ASAM) Levels of Care Criteria to increase the opportunity to make a positive change in an individual’s life.
An Intensive Outpatient Program is offered with group meeting held 3-times a week along with periodic drug testing and one-to-one counseling. This program averages about 6-weeks in length (the equivalent of a 28-day program). Group topics include disease Concepts of Addiction, Self-Esteem Issues, Motivation, Relapse Prevention, Personal Responsibility, Positive Communication, Goal Setting, Honesty and Spiritual Awareness.
Outpatient Program Group sessions are 1 hour and meet twice each week. Focus is on relapse prevention, living with an addiction, use of social supports, anger management, job readiness, and life skills. Group needs will also drive the topics each week.
